Have you ever done anything that you had previously sworn you would never do again?

I do it all the time. I stand up in front of God and everybody and swear that I will never participate in (whatever) again. I am telling the truth when I say it, I fully intend to never do it again. It becomes a personal commandment...for a little while. Then something happens to me, I don't know what it is. I guess I just can't help myself, maybe I am weak, maybe this behavior is indicative of some sort of mental illness, I don't know.

What is it, you might wonder. Which self-imposed barrier did I crash through this time? It was the Seasilk...Seasilk and the Montego Bay Scarf. Modeled here by my youngest niece, Madeline.

The details:
Montego Bay Scarf
By Amy R. Singer
Interweave Knits Summer 2007
Knit with Handmaiden Seasilk in the Ocean colorway
Size US8 straight needles
Approximately 80" long by 10" wide

This picture better shows the details of the pattern:

Lace knitting still does not seem to come very naturally to me, but I will probably do it again. I am too hard-headed not to.

What an adorable little model - and what a great scarf! I am so glad you made it, it is beautiful! You know I do this all the time too, swear not to bother any more with such stupid projects, but then I just have to try again... I call it stubbern... Sometimes good and sometimes it just makes me even more frustrated. You have done really well Knit! Have a nice day!

Hard headed, maybe - but soft fingered, obviously! Well done - and it looks particularly well on the model ;-)

Was it worth all the effort? (I think so, myself...).

Get this: I am so (SO) far behind in my blog reading it is NOT even funny. I just caught up on the KAL or so I thought. I didn't see the post with your Montego Bay scarf.

OMG, Amy it is beautiful and I'm so proud of you that you persisted and it paid off! And now, looking at the photo of your niece, Madeline modeling it I damn near cried. Okay, I did. I'm all emotional. What, with post-MS and all full of pain killers and all. LOL!

But seriously, the scarf is lovely and I'm so glad you gave it another try because it was so well worth the effort - BRAVO!
