A VERY pleasant surprise

Last week I got an email from my oldest friend. I better be more clear, she is not my OLDEST friend, I have friends that are older than her, but she has been my friend longer than anyone else. We met and became fast friends when we were four years old. That's 37 years ago for those of you who are counting.

Anyhoo, so I get an email from Dana wanting to get together for lunch and we agreed on a time last Friday and we met at Local Table. The time with a dear friend and the incredible food would have been enough to make it a great afternoon, but she brought me this:

This stuff ROCKS! 200 yards of 100% Llama, sport weight. She claims that she is not a knitter, but anyone that can recognize and appreciate yarn like this has most definitely got an "inner knitter" and I am going to try my best to help her wake it up.

This is a very special yarn, given to me by a very special friend and I would like to find a very special project for it. Do any of you have any suggestions?

What a great way to spend a day, and what a nice friend. That yarn looks awsome. I agree, somewhere inside her is a hidden knitgen. I had to take a closer look in to the photo, the color of the yarn is beautiful! Whay about a scarf from a nice pattern? Have a nice day!

And if you don't know the word whay, I can tell you that translated it means "what". Happy knitting!

Dude! Definitely wake her 'beast' up! because yes, plainly her inner knitter IS a beastie (this is a VERY GOOD beastie) for picking this beautiful skein of heaven... I wonder, it looks a bit like the Llama available at the Farmer's Market.... it is YUM!

It's easy to see why she's such a good friend. But, are we actually supposed to KNIT with the yarn we buy? hmmmmmm, that's something I'll actually have to try--HA! Annie

How great that you got to meet your friend again and spent such a wonderful day with her! And she seems to be an awesome friend indeed, giving you such a yummy yarn! It looks fantastic, and I love the color!

How sweet! She very definitely has an "inner knitter" and it is your duty as a Knitter to bring it out!

How about a funky hat or beret... there would be enough for that. I haven't seen llama in person but it must be quite warm, no?

And I agree... she must be a knitter (or yarn crafter or some type). She just hasn't come to that awareness yet ;-.
