Knitting and gifts and stuff

My daughter came in and stole, yeah, I said it, she STOLE the Quant that I had made for myself last week and then she called and asked me to make one for her friend. So I am using the yarn that I bought to make another one for myself to make one for her friend. I guess I will have an excuse to go back to the LYS again.

I have also started Foliage. It looks blue in this picture, but it is actually silver.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day. My sweet Valentine brought me some of my favorite cologne.

I got one other surprise today, a wool winder and a swift.

I am not going to say here who bought that for me, if you want to know you will have to email me at collier39(at)cox(dot)net.

I am so jealous of your swift and ball winder!! I have been dreaming of getting that set-up. Is it so much fun?? Are you putting off all other obligations to sit down and wind up your entire stash? :)

Amy: great presents - both the cologne and the ball winder/swift. Can I have the ballwinder/swift??

Not surprised that your daughter stole the Quant. Maybe you should make one for me as well!

And when you finish Kristina's, you can make mine :-)

A Ball winder and swift is a FANTASTIC gift; I don't know how I ever lived without mine (so, who gave it to you?)

Ooops, I meant to say I like the looks of the beginning of your Foliage; can't wait to see it finished. Perhaps you should make me one of those, too ;-)

That beginning piece of Foliage looks beautiful! Reminds me of all of the flower motiffed table cloths that my grandma would make. And whoever gave you that swift and ball winder is a genius - two super great presents. Enjoy them (and the extra time you will have to knit now that you no longer need to wind your own balls).

Weee for all the yarn winding you get to do now. It's fun to say "no, thank you" at the LYS when they offer to wind your yarn.

Thanks for leaving nice comments on my blog! :) I would so go to a left over sale if there where one.. hehe..

Lovely gifts you received! And the swift!! Wow, I've been wanting one of those for a long time now.. I don't usually need a wool winder, but I wouldn't be sorry if I got one.. :D

Hope you are doing well!

Whooo hoooo for the ball winder and swift! I bought a winder, but alas, no swift--I think having a swift would take all the "fun" out of winding yarn--it would be so much harder to make the colossal yarn knots I make.

Wow. A swift! I love quant, never gave it a second glance before cause I thought it was a hat. This may just encourage me to make a foray into the world of entrelac....
