Another beautiful weekend

The weather this weekend was so pretty, it was another perfect opportunity for outdoor activities. MAYFEST!

We weren't the only ones that thought this was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon/evening, look at all these people:

We enjoyed all of the music at the various stages, we checked out all of the artist's booths. It was probably the best Mayfest I have seen in recent years.

Since we were downtown we had dinner at Billy's on the Square. Billy's has been a long time favorite of ours, but we just aren't downtown much anymore and don't get many chances to eat there.

We spent a good part of Sunday in our PJs, not doing much of anything until evening. My parents took us to dinner at Charleston's in Brookside to celebrate my birthday, which is today. It's also Julie's birthday. You should hop over and read about her fabulous birthday present celebration and wish her a happy birthday.

Robert got me the most beautiful (and delicious) birthday cake from Ann's Bakery. If you've never had one of Ann's cakes, you have to try it. It's hard to beat Merritt's but Ann's does it every time.

Is that not the the prettiest cake?

Last week I won an amazing skein of sock yarn from Butternut Woolens in a contest on Chrispy's blog. My camera has stopped cooperating and I cannot get a good picture of it. I'll have to figure out how to use Robert's camera and get some pictures soon.

What am I thankful for today?

1. I am thankful that my husband thinks I'm an angel, even though I'm not.
2. I'm thankful there was nice weather for Mayfest.
3. I'm thankful that I live in a place where I'm entitled to my own opinion and (even though they might want to) no one can shoot me for expressing it.

Your husband obviously loves you a lot; what a sweet cake!

I'm insanely jealous of your weather; look at all those people in shorts.

I'm thankful to share a birthday with such a wonderful person. Happy Birthday, again :-)

Happy birthday! What a gorgeous cake. May Day looks like it was a great success for all. I love that kind of thing.

And warm weather too? I'm insanely jealous!

Happy belated birthday! Great cake... although wouldn't red icing and an evil grin have been more appropriate!? Then again, presumably Robert knows you better than I... :-)
