Such a fabulous weekend

It all started on Friday, the mail brought two packages to my door. One was from
Bea and it contained this beautiful pair of socks and some chocolates for Dona.

The package has been forwarded to Dona and I just know she will love it.

The other package came from Holly just for no reason at all, just because she is such a sweetie. I don't know what I did to deserve her. Check it out:

Two balls of Hempathy in a beautiful dark red color, that's her knitting group's official t-shirt - Zombie Prom Date Knitters, Girl Scout Thin Mints, and a ball of Reynold's Smile, which by the way has already been turned into this hat. No pictures of it right now, it's soaking.

I had some good knitting time this weekend and I finished some WIPs that have been hanging around here.

This Quant is one of my Pay-It-Forward (Honest to goodness, I haven't forgotten about that commitment, the other two will be coming soon) projects and is ready to be shipped off to it's new owner.

These socks were made with Opal Sock yarn and they are a birthday present for a dear friend. She'll be very lucky if she gets them, I want to keep them for myself.

These two skeins of Tempted sock yarn were a Mother's day gift for my mom. I wish I could have bought her 100 skeins, but these two will keep her busy for a little while. I love shopping for yarn, even if I don't get to keep it.

I am going to have to make myself several pair of socks because my Mother's Day gift is the hands-down best way to showcase handknit socks, Clear Chucks! Aren't they great?

We spent such a fabulous day Sunday with friends and family celebrating Mother's Day. I wish every Sunday could be like that.

My weekend was great, but it wasn't so much for the people in Picher, OK who lost their loved ones and homes in a tornado that almost completely destroyed that whole town this weekend. That little town is in my prayers.

Createcraft wants to know the story behind everyone's blog name, why did you pick that name, what does it mean to you? There's no real exciting story about my blog name, no significant meaning. It is derived from the colorful old redneck Oklahoma saying, "Well, I could just sh*t and fall back in it." It's an expression of surprise or shock and I just always thought it was funny. So I just tweaked it a little to fit my application.

That's all I've got for now, time to be thankful:

1. I am thankful that my mom is the one that I call Mom.

2. I am thankful that Kate is the one that calls me Mom.

3. I am thankful for Zombie Gear in the mail.

You've been a busy girl. I loved your story about your blog name. I had not heard that saying, but I haven't lived in Oklahoma since I was 3.

Go Holly! I have a t-shirt too! They're the best. Everyone at the office loves it...

What lovely gifts for Dona too - and haven't you been productive this weekend, Amy. Lovely yarn you bought your mother as well.

Thanks for the link re. the blog name - and your story was interesting. I hadn't heard that particular phrase before, we up here in Canada being so genteel and all, bah gawd!

Sometimes a person just needs a nice package in the mail!

It's sort of a non official pay it forward!

I can't believe you already knitted a hat!

I'm happy to see that the package arrived safely :)

Not so much knitting going on here lately. I've spent to much time licking sun and celebrating spring. A bit cloudy today though, so I might actually get to do some knitting done ;)

I saw the tornado pictures on the news. Poor people!! Sure hope they get the help they need..
