The Sweetheart shorts are going to have to wait

I have been to every LYS and no one has the needles that I need to make the Sweetheart shorts. Well, ALMOST every LYS. A salesperson in one store told me about another store, she said that it was near downtown at 3rd and Lansing. So off I went. It was about 7:00pm and was dark, so I may have missed it, but the only thing that I saw that was open for business looked like a Methodone Clinic. It is a very poorly lit street and there were 3 or 4 freakishly thin people standing out front. I thought it might not be a good idea to go in and ask for needles, so I decided to just stay in my car and order them online. It is just as well that I haven't been able to get the needles locally because I still haven't finished my taxes. I am not supposed to be knitting till those are done anyway.

For your amusement, here is a photograph of my crazy 7-year-old niece. It is so cool to me because not only did she set this shot up, but she took it herself.

Taxes are boring. Knitting is fun! Were you looking for Fringe downtown? That's the only one down there I know of. Maybe we should have a Knit Nite there sometime. That would be fun!

I don't know anything about art or photography but I think your neice may have talent.

I agree with Eric, that's a fabulous photo of your niece, and to think she set it up and took it herself!
I absolutely love it!
What size needles are you looking for? If I have them you could borrow perhaps?

Gretch here. First - way cool shot of your niece. She's clearly got an eye, well, two of course, but you know what I mean.
And I did understand the chicken noises. I generally think of them as "cluck" rather than buc, but I am not currently fazed...Flattered all to hell, but until someone can come up with just, maybe 2.5 hours more in any given day, it could happen. Also, a few technical difficulties - no camera, no pc to call my own. Every day on this machine is numbered. One day the IS department is going to realize what it is I do with this thing, and my goose will be cooked. Soon I will part with my hard earned cash and buy me a pc that I can down and upload any thing I want. Until that time, I shall have to confine myself to commenting. You're so nice! However, anytime Marianne needs a guest blogger I'm there.
Finally, cute kids down there. And I personally can't wait to see what's going to happen with all that red yarn...

Amazing photo... clearly she has your artistic genes (seem to run in your family)

I'm with Emma, we should have a knitting road trip to Fringe, or maybe a yarn hop soon?

I miss knit night, I'll wear my new socks as soon as I can come back!
