I have managed to knit a little bit

Even though I have had my hands full this last few days trying to get Robert settled back in and getting things ready for our vacation next week I have managed to make a little progress on my second sock. I was kinda disappointed at first because there was NO WAY to make the stripe pattern on these two socks even look like they were pretending to match. I knew I wouldn't be able to make it match exactly, but I wanted them to match somewhat. The more I knit on this second one, the less it matters. I am falling in love with the little mismatched buggers.

I am not sure why it was so important to me that they match, I guess since it was my first pair I wanted them to look like I knew what I was doing. That in itself kinda cracks me up. It is the rare occassion that I look like I know what I am doing.

Now for the "tug at your heart/purse strings" portion of this post:
Light the Night Walk is an effort to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Julie is walking to raise money in her friend Betty's name. If you feel moved to help her I know she would appreciate it. Just click the Light the Night button on her blog to donate.

Dudette, I could just squeal for you and that vacation!
Your socks look great whether or not the stripes match up, they'll feel like a bit of heaven on your feet.
Yep, been there, done that :^) at Julie Noolie's...very good cause...

Have you checked out Ms.K's project? For the families of the miners and rescuers? Knit a blankie square?
(I have a button on my blog)

Just be proud of your don't look alike socks! It is a proof of that you have knitted them yourselves! We are many more with different socks - those who buy socks are the one with the socks that matches. Wow what a great holidayplan! Have a really nice time and take care!
