Our cold, freezing rainy Sunday consisted of a little of this:
I spent a lot of time enjoying my fireplace today. There are few things that I find more soothing than a fire.
And a little of this:
Did a little knitting on the mystery project, which by the way, is kicking my @$$. It's grudge knitting at this point, I am going to finish it just to prove to myself that I am smarter than a piece of yarn.
And a little of this:
We had to have some cocoa to warm ourselves up after we cleared all the ice off the steps.
And a LOT of this:
Ice...it's everywhere and it continues to rain off and on. One of our smaller trees got so heavy from the ice that it was completely uprooted. We have limbs down ALL OVER our yard and the evergreen tree is bent almost in half from the weight of the ice. Our power was out for a couple of hours this evening and I know of others whose power has been out most of the day. It is supposed to rain for the next couple of days, I am hoping that it will turn to snow, it's easier to deal with than this ice.

I can see that all that ice is not fun, I suddenly feel happy about the snow we have. Smarter than yarn - yeah I hope so - it will be great, I know!
Blasted Canadian cold fronts!!! :) At least you got to enjoy some cocoa. Love the fireplace too :-) - one thing I dislike about apartment living is the lack of a fireplace.
Don't give up on the mystery project... some of these lace patterns were written by sadists, I think. SIGH.
Why not treat yourself to a Grande Godiva shrug kit? I managed to figure out the $*(#$)*@#(cast on then finished the thing last night! (pics on the blog tomorrow). I like the way it looks but am not a shrug person (mostly because I talk too much with my hands, thus ensuring it is always up around my neck somewhere) so I think my mother will be getting an extra christmas gift.
Hey - we saw video on the Norwegian news today - about the awful weather in Oklahoma! Taken in Oklahoma, but they did not say in what town.. It looks horrible, be sure to be careful walking, driving or whatever you do. Maybe stay home knitting... Take care!
I saw the same news as Hobbygaasa, better be careful outdoors.. And I have to agree with Kristina B. I miss the fireplace in my old apartment.. Yours look so nice, and hot chocolate with mini-marshmellows: mmm... (ok, not too sure about the spelling here.. bare over with me..)
Thanks for commenting on my blog, BTW!
I hope that you haven't lost power! Ours was out for about 36 hours and when it came back on we all spent a few minutes yelling and celebrating. Now we just have to get the holes in the roof patched.
Stay warm and don't let the mystery project get the best of you!
Oh yesss - a cozy fireplace, some beautiful knitting and yummy cocoa - is there anything better? ;)
