OMG I feel really old today

Today is my daughter's 24th birthday.

She was the cutest baby, she had these chubby little cheeks and the biggest, brightest smile. Her blue eyes just danced when she smiled, they still do.

She was always a very smart kid. It seems like she was born talking, and she is still talking...and talking...and talking. She has always been an over achiever when it came to school and work. She is focused, hard-working and you'll probably never meet anyone more goal-oriented. She bought her own home ALL BY HERSELF before she was 21.

She is very funny, she has always got a funny story to tell. She is good at finding the humor in the not-so-funny situations too. She is also quite a writer. I think she should start her own blog, she claims that she doesn't have time. So she works full-time and is a full-time student, I am sure that she is not doing much of anything between midnight and three a.m. She could use that time to blog, right?

So happy birthday today to my beautiful, smart, hard-working, funny, pain-in-the-ass kid.

Love you, Kate.

Happy Birthday MOM, sounds like you've done a good job with her. Not much is as satisfying as watching a kid succeed.

To my Mother,
First of all, thanks for making me cry on my birthday!! You have no idea how it made me feel to read all the amazing things you said about me! No matter what I'm stressing about or how much I feel like I suck, no one can put things back into perspective like my mommy!! I love you so much! I don't know what I would do without you! You are my best friend. You push me to be the best me I can be and you put up with me when I fall short. I know that I can be hard-headed and hell bent on being difficult, but look at it this way, I must've got it from someone! We can say I got it from my father if that makes you feel better! But seriously Mom, I am so proud and thankful for all you have given me including my thick(unruly)hair and poor eyesight, and especially for October 1st! I love you more than birds can say!

Love you,
Kate
