As if I were someone important

I found a new (at least new to me) yarn this last week and I am going to review it here for you as if I were the Yarn Harlot or the Keyboard Biologist or somebody.

The yarn I found is Berroco Comfort.

50% Super Fine Nylon and 50% Super Fine Acrylic
about $6 for 210 yards
Worsted weight

I am not a big fan of the synthetics as a rule. However, it has a very nice feel to it, not at all scratchy and has a pretty good memory. It is machine washable, so it is good for gifts for busy people and non-knitters that don't understand our obsession for the alpacas and the llamas and such. It seems to soften up even more with washing.

This one tends to split rather easily and requires a little extra care when knitting to prevent that, but overall I think it is worth it.

I hope everyone had a happy, warm, safe, comfortable holiday.

This year I am going to start focusing on the great things in my life, so each time I post I am going to find 3 things that I am thankful for. I have stolen this idea from Cole.

1. I am thankful my family is my family (I have seen some of the alternatives and sheesh)

2. I am thankful that I know how to knit.

3. I am thankful that I was born after the discovery of electricity.

aaah, reviewmeister! I've seen that in the lys, a couple of them in town and I have to admit to looking at it and touching it, holding it in my hands, squeezing it...but it didn't come home with me... I understand it's been selling big time and lots of folks like it! splitty, eh?

Happy New Year to you and yes, I'm looking forward to knitnight.. see you there !!

Ooh, I used that to make a pair of socks. They were a very nice, soft, cozy pair, for sure!

You have as much right to review a yarn as anyone ( Goodness you are sounding like me!!). I love what you are grateful for too, same here .I won't include Beavers even though they are being re-introduced in England ( the German variety ...so we all might find some lovely carved pipes out in the woods).

Great color, since we have to order most of the great yarn on web I have never used it. Norwegian yarn is great, but somehow a bit dull...There is so much to be thankful for, small things that is forgotten in this buzzy world. Hope you will have a great 2008!

Happy New Year, Amy!

You are someone important and have every right to review yarn, books, patterns, and anything else you'd like - why not voice your opinion in this world?

I do like your goal for the year - focusing on the great things in your life - way to go!

As far as electricity goes, amen to that, although I recently told my husband that I'd like to *possibly* go join an Amish community for a bit and see if I could survive. He said he it was doubtful, lol.

I haven't used the Comfort yet, but I have fondled a couple items made with it. One was a wonderfully soft baby blanket. I'm planning to use it very soon!

I like your thankful theme.

Thanks for the yarn review!!! Not personally a huge fan of Berrocco aside from the Suede. But - what is your moniker (e.g. your version of Yarn Harlot?)

Excellent thankful theme. To steal it, I'm thankful that:

(a) I have great friends and a supportive partner and mother

(b) I have a job - and one that pays decently at that

(c) I have a warm and comfortable place to live.

Oh, not to mention being thankful for fun blog interaction like you offer! :-)
